The German sailing team has extended sponsorship agreements with Audi and SAP and signed a new deal with Marinepool. All the deals run until after the next summer Olympic Games in Rio four years from now. According to Sponsors.de, the German online sports business portal, the Audi and SAP deals are worth some €3 million (US$3.8 million) in total, plus €1 million (US$1.28 million) in-kind. Marinepool’s contribution is likely to be worth a low-six figure sum.
Audi and SAP logos will continue to appear on national team boats during the run-up to the Olympics, although under International Olympic Committee rules they will be removed during the Games in Brazil. Marinepool, meanwhile, has signed up as the official clothing supplier of the team. Marinepool adds the German team to its existing national federation partners, including France and Austria.
